But whatever your take on York, there is almost too much for a treasure hunt - you will not be short of clues here. York is a small riverside city - to say it has city walls would be like saying that the Queen has some money! Needless to say, the York scavenger hunt or treasure hunt may just take you to these ... Likewise, York has a bit of a church, they like to call it a Minster locally, but it would be too obvious to set a clue or two there - or would it???? It is possible that humans have inhabited this area since the Stone Age but the citywe now call York was founded in AD71 when the Romans sent soldiers up to keep the local tribes in order. In Saxon times, the city flourished and the original wooden Minster was replaced with a stone version. The Normand managed to destroy that when they came 'up t'north' , to beat up the locals like the Romans 1000 years earlier! They were kind enough to rebuild it though. Nowadays, the only invaders are the tourists and companies sending their staff on a fun and enjoyable team build day or corporate entertainment event - with the great rail links to York from almost any of the major UK cities, why not join them? The Treasure Hunt ... The York team building treasure hunt or scavenger hunt takes place either on foot in York itself or by car, outside of the city, where you will explore the local villages in order to find the answers and complete the tasks. Both the car and on foot treasure hunt will require careful planning by the team before you set off, in order to collect sufficient answers and to avoid heavy time penalties. There are always far more clues than your team could possibly answer in the time available.
