Treasure Hunts and Scavenger Hunts in Windsor
Probably the first thing that springs to mind when most people think of Windsor is 'Castle', the one that got a bit scorched in 1992 and prompted QEII to declare it as an 'annus horibilis'. But there is also the river Thames, Eton and Ascot races. It is not often used as a corporate away day venue which is a bit of a shame as the area boats the magnificent Oakley Court - 37 acres of pure class and a superb place for a conference, corporate away day or team building venue.
If you are a conference organiser, you could consider refreshing delegates with an afternoon spent in nearby Windsor, relaxing and getting to know each other during a treasure hunt. For team building, a treasure hunt is difficult to beat. It demands that everyone is involved all of the time (no standing around watching like with ordinary and conventional team building), communicates, thinks laterally and uses their negotianing skills and initiative - need we say more, contact us for details NOW!
The Windsor area developed as a settlement during Saxon times, with a royal palace being built less than a couple of miles from the modern day town. During Norman times, a wooden palisaded castle was established, to be replaced by stone defences which were the beginnings of the castle that we know today. During the reign of Elizabeth I, the bubonic plague struck London, her answer was to run away to Windsor. Needless to say, during your treasure hunt, Windsor Castle will probably be the source of several of your answers!
Apparently, in the 14th century, there was a ridiculous number of alehouses given the small population. Modern day Windsor has more people and offers plenty of spots for use as a start or finish point for your corporate group. It has a lively nightlife with trendy bars, clubs and pubs if your staff are into that sort of thing. Alternatively, there are plenty of decent restaurants for a team meal.
The castle at Windsor has been besieged several times, nowadays, the only invaders are the tourists, stags, hens and companies sending their staff on a fun and enjoyable team build day or corporate entertainment event - with the great links to Windsor from almost any of the major UK cities, why not join them?
Alternatively, if it is ghostly treasure hunt or macabre treasure hunt you want, take a look at our Derby or Jack the Ripper options.

Your Windsor Treasure Hunt ...
The Windsor treasure hunt or scavenger hunt takes place either on foot in Windsor itself or by car, outside of the city, where you will explore the local villages in order to find the answers and complete the tasks. The hunt can be fully personalised - if you need a specific start and finish location, or a specific slant, tell us!
Both the car and on foot treasure hunt will require careful planning by the team before you set off, in order to collect sufficient answers and to avoid heavy time penalties. There are always far more clues than your team could possibly answer in the time available.
The treasure hunt is great too for private individuals and charity organisations. It is also rapidly taking over from the 'weekend in Prague' becoming the new generation of stag and hen event, the perfect daytime activity for a weekend 'do'. They are fun, sociable and involve everyone - email your stag or hen enquiry from here.
We do not subcontract out our treasure hunts or scavenger hunts - we produce and deliver them ourselves ensuring you of a top quality event. We are contracted by top corporate entertainment companies to write and deliver their treasure hunts - Tips
