Venice Treasure Hunt for Team Building, Corporate Entertainment, Stag and Hen events ...

Whenever one thinks of Venice, it is usually in association with canals or the Pope. But as you will find out on a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt, there is more to it than that. Our treasure hunts will take you to the most popular parts of Venice, as well as some of the lesser known, but equally fascinating, places.

This unique city is often considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world and is built on the hundred or so islands in the Venetian Lagoon, an inlet of the Adriatic sea, hence its watery reputation. The origins are not documented but it is known that it existed in Roman times and was sacked by the various Germanic tribes as they attacked the Roman Empire from the north. It came to be an Italian city-state during the 9th to 12th century and naturally was a formidable seafaring force in the region. By the 13th century it was probably the most prosperous city through its trading with the Byzantine empire and the Muslim world. Competition between wealthy merchants gave rise to ever more magnificent and expensive buildings, leaving us a perfect place for running treasure hunts! If you have already been team building or had a corporate entertainment event in Venice, why not consider Rome as your next venue.

Venice steadily declined from the 15th century and its next phase of development came under Napoleon, who removed its status of city-state. Ownership passed backwards and forwards between Austria and Italy, finally becoming firmly Italian in 1866. Transport within the city is either via the canals that lie between the islands that form Venice, or on foot. It is the largest traffic free city in Europe, although there are road and rail links via a causeway to the north.

Your treasure hunt will surely take you to the famous St Mark's Square, the Basilica and the Doge's Palace, but where else will you go and by what means of transport ...

The Venice treasure hunt and scavenger hunts can be written with start and finish locations to suit your needs, on foot but not by car within the Venice; it will have factual, fun, hard, observation and silly clues..........there is a shopping list and a word quiz as well as photographs to take thus keeping all team members busy, and by using digital cameras we can also provide a lasting memory of your day.
