Berkshire Treasure and Scavenger Hunts
Another one of our great venues for a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt - explore the Royal City of Windsor, Reading, Ascot, Wokingham and other Berkshire towns and villages on foot or by car. Our treasure hunts will take you to the most popular parts of these venues, as well as some of the lesser known but equally fascinating, places. You never know just who you might meet ...
Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor are probably the most well known sites of interest in the Windsor area, plus the famous Public School Eton, Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park ... what better places to hunt for treasure!
Legend has it that Windsor Castle was built on an encampment that belonged to King Arthur, legend apart though, the castle can be traced back to Norman times. It was built from stone in the 12th and 13th centuries and enlarged, including being almost totally rebuilt in the mid 14th century. The original Saxon settlement was at Old Windsor because of the river. William built the Castle on an escarpment at Clewes, and the 'modern' town of Windsor developed around that.
Windsor has seen its fair share of disorder and violence over the years, hangings during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, a jail-break where those caught were either killed on the spot or hanged, rioting in the civil war, the Eton boys inventing the game of Rugby and now the skirmishing during your treasure hunt!! We hope not!!
Our Ascot treasure hunt is a popular one, especially for clients organising hospitality days at the races, the treasure hunt adds an extra and very sociable dimension.
Bracknell has its roots in the Bronze age but is very much a modern creation, although the centre was designed in the 1960s, the heyday of new town development.
Wokingham is smaller than its neighbours of Reading and Bracknell but contains a number of historic buildings from Tudor times onwards. Dubiously, it is famed for its bull baiting when it wasn't just the bulls and dogs killed ... the deaths of several spectators is recorded too as the crowds became a little overexcited. Wokingham has also been associated with outlaws and bandits such as Claude Duval and the infamous 'Wokingham Blacks', a group of thieves who took their name from the practice of blacking their faces before heading out to do their dirty deeds ... but your team will probably not need to go to those lengths to obtain the scavenger list items!

Your Berkshire Treasure Hunt ...
The Berkshire treasure hunt or scavenger hunt takes place either on foot in any of the towns of Berkshire ... Windsor is the most popular but why not consider Ascot, Bracknell, Hungerford, Maidenhead, Reading or Wokingham ... or by car, in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, where you will explore the local villages in order to find the answers and complete the tasks. The hunt can be fully customised for your company or organisation - if you need a specific start and finish location, or a specific slant, tell us!
Both the car and on foot treasure hunt will require careful planning by the team before you set off, in order to collect sufficient answers and to avoid heavy time penalties. There are always far more clues than your team could possibly answer in the time available.
